Charles Friend married Prudence Hall in 1796 after settling in Sang Run (Cave Farm] about 1795 and later, in 1828, he sold the farm to Meshach Browning and moved to Missouri.Source - "Indian Blood", Evelyn Guard Olsen, pg. 83. 

In the marsh area of Missouri, Charles and his sons contracted Malaria.Charles died in Missouri.On his deathbed, he told his sons to go back to Maryland."It is better," he said, "to live on wild game in the mountains than shake to death in Missouri,"Source - "Indian Blood", Evelyn Guard Olsen, pg. 114.
