Charles "Charle" Gent served in the Revolutionary War for a period of 18 months. One significant war event that he was involved was The Battle of Kettle Creek, Georgia. This major Revolutionary War Battle occured on February 14, 1779. This Battle defeated the British from controlling the State of Georgia. Today, the Battle of Kettel Creek, Battlefield, located in Wilkes County, Georgia, serves as a memorial to those that served in the Georgia Militia of the Revolutionary War.
