Charles Hempstead, a farmer, and all his life a resident of Lake Como, where he was greatly esteemed for: his excellent qualities, died on Saturday, July 1, at his home in Lake Como from a heart attack. Mr. Hempstead, who was born July 4, 1873, at Apex, N. Y., married Anna Mulligan in April 1906. Surviving near relatives include his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Homer Brookings and Mrs. Graydon Curtis; also a sister, Mrs. 0. Bronson of Childs, Pa., a brother, Gerow Hempstead of Lake Como, and several grandchildren. The funeral was at the home in Lake Como on Wednesday (yesterday). Rev. Mr. Nankevill officiating. The pall bearers were George Gilchrist, Horton Woodmansee, Frank Card, Howard Roney, Clarence Bailey, Frank Curtis. Burial at Lakewood.
