Company Information: 4th handcart company which had about 500 individuals, 100 handcarts, and 5 wagons in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Iowa City, Iowa.
Pioneer Information: Charles Keetch and his family immigrated on the ship Thornton and traveled with the Willie handcart company. After crossing Iowa, the Keetches dropped out of the company at Florence. At that place Charles married and continued on to Utah in 1861 in the Joseph W. Young/Ansil P. Harmon/ Heber P. Kimball Company. His wife gave birth to a son on the trail.

ANOTHER DEATH
Chas Keetch was found dead in the Paris bottoms Thursday afternoon. It is supposed while raking hay, he was taken with a fit and fell in such a manner that his neck caught in the rake wheel choking him to death.
The deceased had lived long in the valley and was widely known. He leaves a wife and several grown up children.
