East Liverpool Review, East Liverpool OH, Friday 13 September 1957, page 14 - Former Shop Foreman Dies - Charles J. Kraus' Rites To Be Monday - CHARLES J. KRAUS, 74, retired machine shop foreman, died Thursday at 11:15 p.m. in his home at 1258 Hillcrest Rd., near Wellsville, following a several months' illness. Mr. Kraus, who retired in 1952 because of ill health, was employed last by the Genuine Parts Co. of East Liverpool. He was born March 19, 1883, at Ravenna, a son of the late JACOB and BARBARA KLINE KRAUS, and came to Wellsville 68 years ago. He resided in Hillcrest the last 13 years. He was foreman for many years at the former Wellsville shops of the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. and later conducted an auto sales agency at 12th and Main Sts. He was also shop foreman for the Sterling China Co. at Wellsville before going to Genuine Parts. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mr. Kraus leaves his widow, MRS. LUCY TODD KRAUS, and a daughter, MRS. ALICE KRAUS FARIS, both at home; a son, CHARLES J. KRAUS JR. of Columbus, and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the MacLean Funeral Home Sunday afternoon and night. Rites will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the church by Fr. John F. Wirtz, assistant pastor. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery.
