1890 Special Census gives enlistment as 10 Nov 1862; discharge as 17 Mar 1864.

1860 census Monguagon Twnshp pg 677 has two children in the household, Louisa and Ellen Cotecote?? ae 14 and 15, probably Ellen's children by a previous marriage. Yes, last name is Cadoret.

1870 census has MATHILDA Labelle aged 14 in household of James and ELLEN McCollum. Age of Ellen is listed as 47, somewhat less that would be expected of someone who was 43 in 1860.

Civil war pension records: Ellen LaBelle filed 4 June 1879, case #246371 Sarah LaBelle Birbo et al., filed 19 Feb 1891, case #499549

Discharge lists him as 5'7", dark skin, blue eyes, and gray hair.
