Living at home in 1860 with parents and seven siblings. Father owned real estate valued at $2000 and real property, one slave valued at $3,800. Filed CSA pension application in Elbert Co. in 1900. Listed occupation as farmer, stated he served 7 months before being discharged. Died April 20th, 1934. Buried at Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Elbert Co., GA, tombstone reads: Charles W. Maxwell, CO H 38th GA INF-CSA, no dates. Benjamin Maxwell was the brother of Thomas Jackson Maxwell.
