Charles Pigeon

Photo is a picture of Fort St. Remy in the mid-1600's. An outpost, really.

Charles DOB:

e-mail to Doug Brown in July, 2014:

"I was going through this family tree listed below today and discovered I had a lot of missing dates after Marie Lumena Pigeon, so I tried looking up her parents on FamilySearch. There is a whole line for Charles Pigeon (1831-1908), but ONE PROBLEM! Marie Lumina, our g grandmother is NOT listed there as one of his children! I started to look at this a little more when I noticed that Marie Lumina (love that name!) had a DOB of 1865 and I had Charles down for 1816. That’s pretty old to have a kid. Then I see on this Charles on FamilySearch that the DOD is the same as what I have (1906) from you." I also found that the siblings and Charles' wife match.

On Charles DOB: Cousin Doug Brown writes:

"I am not sure where I got Charles. It might have been from [cousin] Vivian. Charles was 36 when he got married in 1852 which means he was 36. Marie Odile our GG Grandmother was 19 year younger. She was only 30 when she had Marie Lumina ,and he was only 49 when he had her." 

Conclusion: the 1831 DOB for Charles is probably correct UNLESS this is the WRONG Charles on FamilySearch and that one was matched up with our Charles' wife.
