Charles Root died Wednesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. V.A. Borden, in Westfield, of heart disease. For the past 15 years Mr. Root had lived in Westfield, removing there from Addison, where he spent practically his whole life. He was born in Addison, 72 years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Root. In 1879 Mr. Root married Agnes Wetenhall, who died in 1909. For 17 years, Mr. Root was a railway employee and later was a wood worker. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Addison. Besides his daughter, Mrs. Borden, he leaves one sister, Mrs. H.C. Hollis of Tacoma, Wash.
