About the Root surname

My Great Grandmother was born in 1867, I'm not certain where, some say she always said Montreal, and her name was Jane Anne Root, she also went by Jenny. I know next to nothing about the Root family and would like to know more. I know far more about her second husbands side of the family. Can anyone help?
