MEMORIAL PHOTOS 2 FLOWERS 5 Charles Thomson was a veteran of the REVOLUTION who migrated middle Tennessee and settled on Yellow Creek in Dickson County in 1808. Mr. Thompson was born in Dinwiddle County, Virginia, and entered service to his country as a volunteer in the Virginia Line of the Continental Army in the spring of 1779 at age 19. He served a total of 7 months at the rank of private, under Captain Edward Pegram's militia of the regiment commanded by Colonel James ______ in the VA line. He served several tours in expeditions against the British who invaded the James River Region. [info: Rev War Pension Application VA. File #W-1514] contributed by Karen Thomas. On Dec. 23, 1786, he married Mary Hodges, born 1769.
