About Charles Timm
◦Charles was apprenticed as a framework knitter in 1760, and he was made a Burgess of Nottingham in 1767. The Burgesses were the only people allowed to vote in local and national elections and the granting of Burgess status was either by servitude or by being the son of a Burgess - Charles' was by servitude. The Burgess rolls list Charles, and spell his name as "Tym".
