Charles Robert Watts was born 2 June 1941 at University College Hospital in Bloomsbury, London, to Charles Richard Watts, a lorry driver for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, and his wife Lillian Charlotte (née Eaves).[2] He had a sister, Linda.
