Moor, Lady Charlotte Mary St Clair (née Moodie)

(1854 ) (pseudonym 'Colonia') Author of novels, short stories and poetry. In 1878, Charlotte Moodie married Sir Frederick Robert Moor who was later Prime Minister of Natal. After her marriage, Lady Moor wrote a novel entitled Maria de la Rey (1903) which was about British and Boer relations before the war of 1899. She was also the author of another novel entitled Miss Vaughan (1911), as well as a collection of short stories entitled St Agnes' Eve and Other South African Stories (1913). Lady Moodie is the author of collections of poetry entitled From the Ends of the Earth (1902?) and Short Gleams of Light (n.d.).
