Chauncey Ives was captain of Connecticut Volunteers in 1812, and was appointed captain of the 37th Infantry, United States Army, April 13, 1813, and commanded at Fort Trumbull, New London, Conn., during the war, being honorably discharged from the army June 15, 1815.
