1st marriage was in Hartland, Conn. 3 Dec. 1786, to Obediah Gildersleeve, b. Northport, L.I. 21 Aug. 1763, d. Gustavus, Ohio,
12 Oct. 1805, son of Obediah and Mary (Dinge) Gildersleeve. In June 1804 they removed to Gustavus, Ohio, from Hartland, Conn. where they were among the original pioneers of that section. He d. there the next year.
Her 2nd marriage abt. 1811, was to Josiah Pelton, who d. abt. 1819, no children to the 2nd marriage (Was he son of Josiah and Mary (Griswold) Pelton of Gustavus?). After the death of Mr. Pelton, the Gildersleeve name was shortened to Gilder, which form it has since retained.
