Christopher Michael Pratt (born June 21, 1979) is an American actor. He is known for television roles, including Bright Abbott in Everwood (2002–2006), and Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation since 2009, as well as for his film performances as Scott Hatteberg in Moneyball (2011), U.S. Navy SEAL Justin in Zero Dark Thirty (2012), Paul in Her (2013), Brett in Delivery Man (2013) and as Peter Quill / Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). He also provided the voice of Emmet Brickowski in the 2014 computer animated film The Lego Movie.
Early life
Pratt was born in Virginia, Minnesota, the son of Kathy (née Indahl), who worked at a supermarket, and Dan Pratt (deceased), who worked in gold mining and later remodeling houses and also chain smoked leading to his death. He was raised in Lake Stevens, Washington, where he placed fifth in a state wrestling tournament as a high school student.
Pratt dropped out of college after a single semester, and after working as a coupon salesman and a day time stripper, he ended up homeless in Maui, sleeping in a tent on the beach. Pratt told The Independent, "It's a pretty awesome place to be homeless. We just drank and smoked weed and worked minimal hours, just enough to cover gas, food, and fishing supplies."
Personal life
Pratt married actress Anna Faris in Bali on July 9, 2009. They have a son named Jack (born 2012).
Chris Pratt is a television and movie actor best known for his roles in the television series Parks and Recreation (2009-2015), and the films The Lego Movie (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Jurassic World (2015).
