Christiaan Mauritz * 1786 did not take part in the Groot Trek, they were 'Voor-uit-trekkers' who had left the Cape and moved to Colesberg via Graaff Reinet c. 1806.
His oldest son Lukas Adriaan Jacobus *1807 was the only one that did take part in the Groot Trek.

By December 1834 LA J van den Heever was already a trek-farmer in the Transoranje dist. Customary the family kept contact with the Church in Colesberg, Cape Colony until the beginning of 1842.
In 1843 they were in Natal but by 1845 the family was back in the Transoranje dist.
