Some say his name was Christopher. However, the War of 1812 documents and widow's pension application listed him as Christian.
On 18 Dec 1813 Christian enlisted in the War of 1812 as a Private in Davis's Battalion, West TN Militia, Roll #45. Battles of Taladega and Horse Shoe. He discharged 14 April 1814.
The above pension application also listed his marriage on 25 Nov 1813 to Mary Ann Coble in Bedford, TN.

In 1820 and 1830 they enumerated in the Wayne County, TN census. By 1840 they were in Hardin County, TN (census) and by 1850 Tishomingo County, MS (census) where they stayed through 1870.
It is said that Christian went to visit his son Jesse who was living in Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama and died there. No buriel has been identified so this virtual memorial was established.
Death source: War of 1812 Widow's Pension Application notes that his death occured in Florence, Lauderdale, ALA.
