Christina and her mother-in-law and several of her children were killed by indians however two or three of her little sons had apparently amused these indians at their stong willed desire to protect their mother so they took the boys with them. the father was able to get the boys back many years later.
Family verbal tradition is that the southern and northern kniseley's would keep in touch and move back and forth until the Civil War (War Between the States)
Daughter of Anthony Kniseley /Knisley. She died in 1758 along with her mother in law Magdelena ( or a name close to that) Holdiman some of her sons where taken by indians, and they lived with the indians at least one son was returned to Christian. Several of Anthony's children moved back to Pa colony when native attacks increased other Kniseley's lost family at that time . The area may have been called virginia gap, Va. We believe Anthony Jr. Stayed in Virginia. This family is a large one and according to verbal history attempted to stay in contact until the wars between the states.
