About Christina Lumsden Fraser
GEDCOM Note
Had a half brother - who had a daughter named Ellen - who married a man named George Smith.
She took a trip back home to see her family when Elizabeth was still a baby - the baby became ill on the journey and died shortly afterwards. Her family was sympathetic, but she felt her family's disapproval - and she found the situation unbearable. She confided to her husband that she could not longer endure the atmosphere of New Mill. Her two sisters had gone to America - why not join them? Her husband thought it was a great idea.
Shortly after her death Alex had sent to Aberdeen, Scotland, for a monument of granite, hewn by Scotch artisans. It now stands on the family burial lot.
