Was born at sea, Soon after his birth, he arrived in the new colonies and settled with his parents near Philadelphia, Chester County, PA and he lived here until adulthood. As a young man he moved south with his parents and siblings to a homestead on Gregory's Run near Sardis, Harrison County, WV (then VA).

After he married Libby they first settled on Gregory's Run where all of there children were born.

Christopher and his family are listed on the 1810 Census for Harrison County. Soon after 1812 Christopher, Libby and their family settled near the Three Forks of McElroy (now Center Point) in Harrison County (now Doddridge County).

He was a farmer and surveyor an he had large land holdings in the Center Point and Ashley areas. It is said he raised a great many turnips an many bushels of buckwheat; he was also a great hunter. He could never speak but broken English, and since Libby was of German parentage, both of them spoke in their mother tongue.

In 1820 Census listed as living in Tyler county with his wife and 1male and 5 females.

   Christopher "Christian" Ash was born at sea (Atlantic Ocean) in c. 1770, the son of Adam Ash and Catherine (Yost). Soon after his birth, he arrived in the new colonies and settled with his parents near
   Philadelphia in Chester Co., Pennsylvania, and here Christopher was raised to adulthood. As a young
   man, he moved south with his parents and siblings to a homestead on Gregory's Run near Sardis,
   Sardis District, Harrison Co., (W.) Va.

After their marriage, Christopher and Libby first settled on Gregory's Run near Sardis, Harrison Co.

   (W.) Va., where their children were all born. Christopher and his family are listed on the 1810
   Harrison County, (W.) Va., census. Soon after 1812, Christopher, Libby, and their family moved into
   the then western wilds of Harrison Co., (W.) Va., and settled near the Three Forks of McElroy Creek
   (now Center Point) in Harrison Co., (W.) Va. When Tyler County was formed in 1814, their Three Forks
   farm became part of Tyler Co., (W.) Va; Christopher is listed on the 1820 Tyler County census in a
   household including his wife, 1 male, and 5 females. In addition, Lovina is listed as the head of her
   household on the 1830 Tyler County census with 1 male and 4 females. This area beacme part of
   Doddridge Co., (W.) Va., when formed in 1845.

Christopher was a farmer and a surveyor, and he had large land holdings in the Center Point and the

   Ashley areas Tyler County (now McClellan District, Doddridge Co.), W. Va. It is said that he raised a

Christopher "Christian" died in Center Point, W. Va., on August 20, 1842?, at the age of about 72, and

   he is buried in the Center Point Christian Cemetery in Center Point, W. Va.
