MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 2 DEATH OF C. B. CLANTON C. B. (Kit) Clanton, 79 years old, manager of a cafe in Neosho for many years, died at his home at the corner of Coler and Lincoln Streets at 4:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon after a long illness. The body laid in state at Bigham's Chapel today, and funeral services were held at 2:30 this afternoon at the Stella Baptist Church, the Rev. G. T. Kelly, pastor of the North Side Baptist church, having the ceremony in charge. Burial was made in the Macedonia Cemetery. Mr. Clanton was born near Stella and has been a resident of Newton county continuously all his life. He was a successful farmer in the Stella community until 1901 when he moved to Neosho and engaged in the restaurant business, part of the time in partnership with his daughter, Mrs. H. S. Bales, until a few months ago when he retired because of ill health. Mr. Clanton was married to miss Mary Wofenbarger, sister of S. L. Wolfenbarger of this city, more than 55 years ago. To this union three children were born, two of whom, Mrs. Bales and David Clanton, both of this city survives. A son died in infancy. The widow also survives. Mr. Clanton, an energetic, hard working man, honest and kindly, had many friends here and in the Stella community who deeply regret his passing.
