He was confirmed on 18 October 1753 at Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
On 19 August 1759, he was a witness at the baptism of his nephew, Christopher Ensley (b. 27 May 1759), son of George Ensley and Hannah Longstreth, at Tohickon Union Reformed Church in Bedminster Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
He married Catharine Klein in 1762.
His widow married Christian Müller (Miller) on 21 November 1782.
