About Christopher Hampton, Primate & Archbishop
Christopher was born in Calais of English parents. He studied at Trinity College Cambridge, becoming DD in 1598. Appointed by King James as Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland in 1613. Built a palace in Drogheda, where he died a bachelor in 1625.
