Sept 7 2004 Clara Townsend 97, of Hartland, WV. Went to be with the lord on September 5, 2004. She was member of the Lizemore Methodist Church and their choir director. She was proceeded in death by her first husband Charles Roscoe Sanders, her second husband Iva Townsend, her parents Rev. Lewis Thomas and Mirerva Jones and Eleven brothers, and sisters. Clara is survived by her three children and their spouses Carl and Jackie Sanders of Columbus Indiana, Josephine and Jessie Childers of Ivydale WV, and Donald and Dolla Sanders of Conway South Carolina. 2 step- children Reva walker of Elkhurst WV and Bernard Townsend of Charleston WV, One sister and her spouse Genevie and Gerald Brown of Indore WV. 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday 9, 2004 at the Lizemores Methodist Church. With the minister Carl Burrows officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday 8, 2004, at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay.
