Clara Belle Brooks, daughter of Nehemiah
and Julia Ann Brooks was born September
15, 1859 near Noblesville, Hamilton County
Indiana and died at Frankfort, Kansas on
November 11, 1936. She came to Kansas
with her parents at the age of seventeen.
they settled on a farm north of Frankfort,
Kansas.
On October 15, 1879 she was married to
W.H. Farrar. Nine children were born to
this union, all of whom survive. Most of
their married life Mr. and Mrs. Farrar
lived on a farm 12 miles northeast of
Frankfort. In 1916 they moved to Hugoton
Stevens County, Kansas. Here they lived
until June 1934. Because of illness they
made their home with their daughter Mrs.
C.W. Bonnell. Mr. Farrar preceded his
wife in death on May 6, 1935.
Survivors include her children, E.C. Farrar
Norwich, Kansas, Mrs. Willis Hawk, of
Peabody, Kansas, Mrs. C.W. Bonnell, of
Frankfort, Kansas, Mrs. C.C. Morris, Mrs.
C.C. Morris, Mrs. R.A. Haigh, F.W. Farrar
and Warren Farrar, all of Hugoton, Kansas
E.M. Farrar, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; also
thirty grandchildren and three great-grand-
children; one brother E.E. Brooks, Frank-
fort, Kansas.
Interment was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
