Aunt Clara lived with Aunt Tilda in their upper west side apartment when I was a child. She was a widow of Josef Hesselberger. During her lifetime she had been an artist and painter mostly doing copies of famous paintings which were popular with the Austrian and German middle class of the time. Many of her works were hanging in their apartment and when she died Dad inherited a number of her paintings.
