About Clara (Rominiecki) Wadas
Clara grew up in a row home in Philadelphia PA. She married Mierczslow (Matthew / Muggsy) Wadas and they had four children. Clara loved sewing and only had one sewing machine that probably is still functioning today. She made most of the clothes for her children, along with furniture covers and draperies. She also loved plants and flowers. Many plants were abounding inside her home, yet no flowers were cut from the outside to bring inside. She did not like to see the flowers die.
When Clara's father died the family business was passed down to his sons. (Women were probably viewed only as property in those days) When Clara's mother died, her mother's Will specified that her daughters would be included in the ownership of the family business, "White Eagle Bottling Works". Clara was elected Secretary of the company.
Family and Friends will always remember the many parties at the Wadas home. Clara lived approximately the last twelve years of her life in a little single Cape Cod home. She was surrounded by many different flowers and plants along with lilacs, roses, fruit trees, and a big vegetable garden.
