About Clarence Edward Lee

Clarence Edward Lee passed away May 11, 1936 in a hospital in Creston following an illness which a postmortem revealed was due to a ruptured gall bladder. Mr. Lee's illness followed a severe cold, and when acute symtoms developed he was taken to Creston Sunday, May 3, but he grew steadily worse. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 p. m. conducted by the Rev. William J. Todd. Interment was made in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Clarence Eward Lee. son of Charles and Belle Lee, was born at Lincoln Center, Adams County, Iowa, July 28, 1892 and was 43 years. 9 month and 12 days old at the time of his death. He attended the rural school of the county and took special work in a school of mechanics in Omaha. He was married to Allie Bennett on May 25, 1910 in Lincoln Township, Adams County, Iowa, mother of Leta, who resides in Omaha. In 1914 he was married to Ollie Bridges who preceded him in death and later he married his deceased wife's sister, Vivian Bridges and to them was born three children, Clarence Jr., Robert, and Helen, all of whom now are at home. His wife preceded him in death February 20, 1931 and he was married to Mrs. May Hosier and to them was born two children, Betty Ann and Donald Dean. All of these children with a step-daughter, Margaret Mosier, have been provided for and cared for by this hard working, devoted father who was taken in the prime of his life. He is also survived by his step-mother, Mrs. Carrie Lee of Corning, two brothers, Clifford of Corning and Warren of Minneapolis, a sister, Lois Lee of Boone. Iowa. For a number of years he has successfully operated the Lee Tire and Battery Station here in Corning. Most of his life has been spent in Adams county except 12 years, I914-1926 during which time he livedin Omaha. Mr. Lee has many business associates and friends who grieve with the family in the loss of this good man who bore his burdens uncomplainingly and who earnestly sought to give his loved ones the best part of his life. He was hard working and consciencious in all his endevors and will be missed by his family and friends. Adams County Free Press, May 14, 1936
