Obituary for Claribel Margaret Trembath
Claribel Margaret Trembath, age 97, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, December 14, 2006 at a local care facility. She was born February 19, 1909 to Klaus and Grace (Van Beek) Dykema in Midland Park, New Jersey, and she married the Reverend William Carman Trembath in 1934. Together they served churches in Red Bank and Teaneck, New Jersey. Claribel graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa, with a BA degree in English and taught high school English and Drama. In later years she was employed at the Reformed Church Book Store and as church secretary for The Community Church of Teaneck. She was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Hackensack, New Jersey. She moved to Spring Lake in 2000 and attended Christ Community Church. She displayed a special interest in music, especially playing the piano and singing in choirs. Claribel also enjoyed reading and antiques. Survivors include her daughter, Claire Edith (John G.) Bryson of Spring Lake; a son, William John (Judy) Trembath of Hillsdale, New Jersey; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Marie Broadwell of York, South Carolina. In addition to her husband, Claribel was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Alton Dykema. A private family celebration of her life will be held during the Christmas holidays.
