Clark Pratt

Census shows that Clark Pratt's father was born in NY (as was Clark) but his mother was born in Holland.

A Landgrant dated March 18, 1837 states Clark Pratt of Lenawee County, Michigan made a deposit in the Land Office at Monroe for "the Southwest quarter of the North East quarter of section fifteen in township Five south of Range Ave East in the District of lands subject to sale at Monroe Michigan containing 40 acres"

A landgrant dated October 1, 1856 states Clark Pratt of Livingston County, Illinois paid in full for "the West half of the southwest quarter, and the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of section ten in township thirty north of Range eight east in the distict of Lands formerly subject to sale at Danville, now Springfield, Illinois containing 120 acres."

On p.987 h/h #2089 Round Grove (Livingston) Il. 1860: Clark, 47, NY; Eunice C., 40, Oh.; Albert JAMES, two, b. Il.; six chn below. In h/h #319 on p.37 Atchison Co., Ks., 1880 age 68, b. NY [fa b. NY, mo b. Holland]; w. Eunice, 62, b. Oh. [fa b. Ct., mo b. NJ]; and son James. In h/h #10 Verona (Adams) Ne. 1885: Clark, 73, NY [same p/o/b for par. as 1880]; and Eunice, 66, b. Oh. [fa b. Ct., mo b. NY]; alone. Property list names owner of farm as James PRATT. Clark d. 10 Nov 1901, Kenesaw (Adams) Nebraska.

Maybe Clark was the youngest son of Aaron Pratt (b. 5 Dec 1765) and Olive Metcalf (they married in Oct. 1790 in Framington, Massachusetts. (Except that he said his father was born in NY on a census) In Alpheus Pratt's info, it says that they had 9 children. (another place said 10, maybe Clark was number 11 -- a bit of a stretch). In '''Vital Records of Framingham, Massachusetts, to the Year 1850'''  It shows 8 of the children including George Washington Pratt born on 1807 and Aaron Pratt born in 1810.  but it does not show the 9th child. Elsewhere it says Metcalf  Pratt was the 9th.  Could Clark Pratt be the 10th? because he named one of his children Olive (his mother's name) and another George Washington (his brother's name.)
