Claudine Claudine Barker

Claudine Barker was an extremely attractive 18 year old girl who had won an American Legion beauty contest in Ashland. On April 7, 1940 she attended a wedding shower for her brother, Howard and his wife Loretta. After the shower she met some friends at Black's Roller Rink on Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY. Afterwards Claudine and her friends were walking home from the roller rink laughing and teasing each other when Claudine shouted "Help me. I've been shot!" She took several steps and fell. Her friends at first thought she was playing. A car went by and they saw all the blood. Claudine's story was featured in Dynamic Detective Magazine published in February 1941.
