About Claudius Richbourg

Claudius married Elizabeth ______ before 1740, when they conveyed a tract of land to George Haig. They had one son, Henry.

It's not clear when he married Unity Fox.

However, in a deposition (sworn statement in support of his application for a federal pension based on his military service), Claudius's son John called Henry his half-brother, James and Nathaniel his full brothers, and Lieut. Fox his uncle. This implies that Henry is the son of Elizabeth _____, and John, James, and Nathaniel are the sons of Unity Fox.

Claudius Richbourg and Unity Fox had sons James, John, Nathaniel, and William, and daughters Unity (married Christopher Gayle) and Susannah (married Michael Cobia & Robert Gilley).

"There is an advertisement in the Gazette of March 17, 1764 offering a tract of 200 acres of land in St. James, Santee, for sale. This advertisement was placed by CLAUDIUS RICHEBOURG, and recites that it was originally a tract of land granted to John Barnett in 1705, who conveyed it to my mother, Anne de Richbourg and directs that anyone interested treat with Mr. Peter Porcher in Charles Towne, where the deeds may be seen, or with the subscriber in St. Mark's Parish, about 25 miles from Nelson's Ferry. It is signed by Claudius Richebourg.
