Clement Thomas Holmes

His mother, Jane was an unwed mother of 2 sets of twins,1) Clement and Robert 2) George Thorne ( named after his uncle) his twin died as an infant. Jane gave the children her surname and listed the father as Richard Holmes (we presume her father who had died 20 years previous to the birth of her first set of twins) .Baptism records of George Thorne show the parents as Samuel and Jane Grimes, the name Holmes is not shown." Source 1) " The Cotswolds to the Cape, Isaac Wiggill 1820 Settler" Source 2) direct descendant of Clement Holmes.
