Clyde Bland was born on May 20, 1890 in Pulaski, Candler County, Georgia, son of Leonard and Pauline (Buie) Bland.
He married and had children.
In 1924, their Bland family moved to Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida. Clyde Bland, one of the founding fathers of Pompano Beach, became the first mayor of the new municipality of Pompano Beach in 1947. He had previously served on the Pompano City Council and was a member of the old Pompano farming power structure.
In November 1964, Clyde Bland, age 74, died in Pompano Beach, FL with burial in the Pompano Beach South Lawn Cemetery, Section North 4, Lot 19, Broward County, Florida.
