About Clyde "Cookie" Cook
This is a recollection from Larry Phipps: When Cookie passed (emphysema), it was a really hard time for all of us. He and "Mom" had a great relationship, with lots of laughter in the home. Some of my most joyful childhood memories revolve around the peach orchard he and Mom had outside Marysville. Showed me how to irrigate from the canals (and didn't take kindly to the times Ronnie and I would break one of the irrigation 'walls' when we played around the trees).
I've had a love of the mountains ever since Cookie took all of us to Sierra City . . . the Sierra mountains are rugged and awesome. He took us to see Lake Tahoe, which I will always remember with a smile. I think of him on the rare occasions when i've been able to revisit that area.
Thank you, Cookie. You were a terrific grandfather.
