Was selectman 16 years between 1727 and 1750; succeeded hisfather as town clerk, having been elected to the office724/1727. Represented the town at the General C9urt in 1746,47and48. Was a member of his Majesty's Council from 1753 to 1770when he resigned his seat on the board.
