About Col David Saunders

David Saunders served in the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War. He was born in 1760 in Hanover Co., Va. and lived there when he enlisted in the Va. Militia in 1780. He also lived in Charlotte Co. during the war. He applied for a veteran's pension 21 Aug 1832 while living in Bedford Co., Va. He married Lockey Leftwich 4 Sep 1788 in Bedford Co. He died there 28 Sep 1842, and Lockey Leftwich Saunders applied for a widow's pension there 28 Aug 1843, at age 70.
