Denmark was born November 7, 1915 to Parley Pratt Jensen and Florence Ruby Campbell Jensen in Chesterfield, Idaho. He grew up on his parents' farm in Toponce, Idaho. Denmark was the second Eagle scout in the state of Idaho, which began his lifelong love of scouting. He attended college at the University of Idaho in Moscow and joined the ROTC. On his return, he continued his education completing his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He later earned a bachelor and a master's degree in psychology from the University of Omaha. He was called to active duty during World War II and served with valor in the Pacific Theater, earning two Bronze Stars with Valor Device and a Purple Heart. He also was awarded the Legion of Merit. After the war, he met and married Barbra Laney on January 7, 1946 and together they had nine children. He continued his military service living in California, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Georgia, Germany, Illinois, Hawaii, Nebraska, and Missouri, retiring to Utah where he taught at Brigham Young University. Demark served in many church callings including Bishop and Stake Mission President twice and served four missions in later life with his sweetheart to Jamaica, North Carolina, Salt Lake Genealogy Library, and the Toronto Canada Temple. He also found time to be involved in many community activities throughout his life including the Boy Scouts, Kiwanis, Toast Masters, and more. His life was about service to God, family, country, and community. Together Denmark and Barbra have enjoyed extensive travels, a full and loving relationship, and many special adventures.
