Francis Pugh son of Francis the immigrant married Pheribee Savage, a native of Cornwall, England. They settled in Chowan precinct of NC (later Bertie County). After death of Francis, Pheribee married Col. Thomas Barker

The will of Francis Pugh, dated July 5, 1733, proved at the May term of court 1736, mentions his son Thomas, son John, and child in case; this posthumous child was Francis Pugh (3rd) who married Mary Whitwell.
