Per email message from Mary Celine Scott, 01-16-1999: "Notes for George Wells: Just a few months after his fathers death George was a Captain in Gouldsmith's Company, in the will he received lands in Baltimore Co.. He received a gift of land from his brother & Blanche GOULDSMITH a settlement of 200 pounds from her father when they marry. In 1677 he was called Major & the next year Commander in Chief of militia of the fort, he was warning inhabitants about the Indian danger. He lived in Spesutia Hundred and had 5 slaves."

Also: "Maryland Calendar of Wills: Volume 2, VOLUME II. page 110, [p.110] Wells, George,Balto. Co., 20th Feb., 1695; To dau. Blanch and hrs., 1500 A., manor on Chester R., Kent Co., bet. Gray's Inn Ck. and Lankfords Bay. To dau. Frances and hrs., 100 A., “Black Island,” 320 A., part of “Collett's Point” and part of “Planters' Delight.” To dau. Susanna Mary and hrs., part of “Planters' Delight” and part of “Collett's Point.” In event of death of dau. Frances or dau. Susanna Mary during minority, survivor to inherit deceased's portion. To son George and hrs., 400 A., residue of “Planters' Delight,” 800 A., “Goldsmith Hall,” 300 A., “Timber Proofe,” and 82 A., “Walston's Addition.” To son Benjamin, ex., and hrs., gifts of land nflrmed, viz., “Benjamin” 470 A., “Wells' Neck and Holyneck,” bet. Back and Middle R., Balto. Co., and all land in A. A. Co. belonging to testator which was his father's; also certain personalty dus testator from cousins Thomas Stockett and Samuel Chew. To 5 child., viz., Benjamin, Blanch, Frances, George and Susanna Mary, residue of estate equally. Son George to be of age at 18 yrs. and 3 daus. at 15 yrs. To wife Blanch, personalty in lieu of that half of Maj. Samuel Goldsmith's estate received by testator at his marriage. Test: Thos. Smith, Eliza: Hamanck, Ralph Gillian. 7. 192."
