Colonel Gerrard Fowke

20. Gerard4 Fowke (Jr.) (Ann3 Thorowgood, Adam2, William1) was born in Charles Co., MD July 15, 1662. Gerard died 1735 in Charles Co., MD, at 72 years of age.

He married twice. He married Mary Lomax. He married Sarah Burdett in Charles Co., MD, December 31, 1686. Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Burdett and Verlinda Cotton. Sarah died 1745 in Charles Co., MD.

He made a will in Charles Co., MD, January 6, 1734. Probate January 20, 1735. Gerard deposed on November 12, 1725 that he was 63 years old. He was a planter and representative in the Lower House of the Maryland Assembly from Charles County from 1704 to 1707. He was a Vestryman of Nanjemoy Parish, Sheriff of Charles County 1699-1701, and Justice 1704-1720. (Purse & Person, p. 612-613)

Gerard Fowke(Jr.) and Sarah Burdett had the following children:

child 63 i. Elizabeth5 Fowke. Elizabeth died January 20, 1732 in Charles Co., MD.

child 64 ii. Gerard Fowke(III) was born in Charles Co., MD October 16, 1687. He married an unknown person. (Purse & Person, p. 613)

child + 65 iii. Anne Fowke was born January 30, 1689.

child + 66 iv. Frances Fowke was born February 2, 1691.

child + 67 v. Catherine Fowke was born April 8, 1694.

child + 68 vi. Chandler Fowke(Capt.) was born 1695.

child + 69 vii. Roger Fowke was born 1697.
