Also known as: John Scarisbrick --- Emigrated to Virginia, in the 1600s.He was a merchant and resided at York Co., VA Justice of the Peace, Captain (in 1672), Mayor, and High Sheriff (1674-77). Married Mary Martiau. Died 1679, in York County, Virginia.[11].

He left a will on 18 Apr 1679; proved 24 Jun 1679. His second wife had passed by then. He named his two oldest daughters Jane DUKE and Elizabeth CONDON executrices and directs that anything recovered from Mrs. BUSHROD's estate be divided among his four minor children, Martha, Mary, Hannah and John SCASBROOK.[10]
