Parmenas and his brother LeRoy TAYLOR were both Majors in the Revolutionarily War
Not my line but I've collected some information on this interesting TN Taylor family. Parmenas is listed in "North Carolina Revolutionary War Soldiers, Sailors, Patriots and Descendants, Vol. I" comp. by Mary Carter & Joseph Mattox, pub. by Georgia Pioneer Publishers. Athens GA. He was b. 1753, d. 1830, m. Hannah ?. He and his brother Leroy were sons of Wm. Taylor of Prince Wm. Co. VA, moved to Burke Co. NC in youth w/mother and step-father, Hosea Rose, then to TN after war. He died in Jefferson Co. TN in 1827 (date above from different source must be wrong) will found in wb2-581. I think I have children, but cannot find at moment- maybe later. S.
Parmenus married the daughter of his commanding officer during the American Revolution.
