Col. Robert TYLER, b. 6th Jan. 1671; d.in summer of 1738; was appointed 22d Apr. 1696, by His Majesty, William III, peace commissioner for Prince George's Co., Md.;served as a member of [p.593] the Lower House of the General Assembly for Prince George's Co., fifteen years from May, 1704; was elected speaker of that body in Oct. 1712, but declined to serve; m. in 1694, Susannah DUVALL, dau. (by 1st wife of Mareen DUVALL, b.1630-35, a Huguenot refugee who settled in Anne Arundel Co., Md.,about 1655; were the ancestors of the late Gen. Bradley Tyler JOHNSON,C. S. A.
