The deceased is survived by his wife and several children.
Mr. Clayton was well known for his extensive land and farming interests in the Eastern half of the county.

Rock Hill July 20---The writer's heart was made sad again last week after the death of my dear father, Lum Clayton, who was only sick two days when the end came last Monday evening, July 19th. We are so thankful he was spared with us all these years. He would've been 80 years old next December 25th. His death follows that of his wife and my mother on March 24th of this year. He is survived by six children and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother and other relatives. May we say the Lord knows best and lets try following His footsteps and live closer to God. I want to ask each reader of this letter to pray for me and my broken heart that I may meet my mother and father some day.
