My name is Paula Good, and my maiden name was Book. I am a cousin, and neighbor of Holly Lindey that you site as a source on this family. Joy Kimsey, (a Metzger descendant) sent me the information about your gencircles posting. ≤/p>≤p>We have worked on these familygenealogies for years, and we would love to know your sources for some of your information, so we can help each other get things sorted out. ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>1. What is your source for the middle name of George Book as being "Warren"? We don't have any record indicating his middle name. It would sure help us out. Was he born in Sept or Oct? your source? ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>2. What is your source for the birth date, birth place, and parents of Christianna Metzger, wife of Johanne Georg Buch? Do you have the immigration information for this Metzger Family? And the Grandfather of Christianna Metzger, Thomas Metzger? The wife of Johann Conrad Metzger, Anna Barbara Weber, Is this the same Weber or Wever, family that were early settlers of Lancaster County, PA, at place known as "Weaverland"? Where George Weber is a brother -in -law of Hans Guth/Good, I believe his sister, Barbara Guth married George Weber. ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>3. What is your source of documentation for Christina Book (sister to George Book) marrying William Emery? We have seen some other reports of this information, but according to Studebaker Family records (my cousin Holly Lindey is also a Studebaker descendant, and has the family records), Christina Book married Joseph Studebaker, and not William Emery. We would be very interested to know the source. for William Emery. ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>4. Do you have the sources for Sisters of George Book, Sabrina, Barbara, Anna, and Christina being born in Canada? We have been unable to find their birth place records. ≤/p>≤p>There are more questions, but maybe we can start with these. I have not had time to read through all of this family information, including the Good Family information. Can you tell me where the connection is with your families and the Book family, and the Good family? ≤/p>≤p>Look forward to hearing from you, thanks so much for your help.≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>Dear Steve, I'm sorry I don't have a web site, nor do I know of anyone who has the family of Johanne George Buch and Christianna Metzger absolutely correct. I'm notvery good at using my computer. I have Family Tree Maker version 8, and I have all the Book information I have been able to gather, entered, but unfortunately it is connected with all my other familylines. I have tried to e-mail my entire file to people, but I don't know how to go about e-mailing a certain line from my file. But I have done what everyone else I know has done, and that is includeALL the available information about a person, but I have tried to note when that information probably does not pertain to that particular individual. ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>Ed McClelland has posted a Book Family on his site, but I'm sure it is mostly the work of Donna Mahoney, who at that point, was including all information she could find on a George Book, and half of it is talking about one or twoother George Book's. ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>The best documentation I have seen is the reference to the Daily journal or Rev. John Dreisbach (son of Sabrina Book and Martin Dreisbach, grandson of Johannes George Book and Christianna Metzger.) In it he states that his mother (Sabrina Book Dreisbach, had only one FULL brother, George Book b. Oct 1758 in Sussex Co NJ, and she had 4 FULL sisters: Anna Book m. Michael Schock; Christina Book who married Joseph Studebaker (I'm not sure of the source for having her married to William Emery); Barbara Book who married Christian Wolf.; and Magdalena Book who married Jacob Dreisbach (brother to Martin Dreisbach). Jacob Book , Conrad Book and John Book are listed as half-brothers to Sabrina Book. However the birth dates and places of some of these 3 Bookscould not possibly to correct, as Johannes would have had to be living in Canada, Germany and PA at the same time, and married to more than one wife at the same time. Either the dates or generations are incorrect. ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>There is a connection to the Canadian Books , but I don't know of anyone who as figured it out correctly yet. The same with the line of Donna Mahoney, There seems tobe a connection with the Butler County Books of George's family, but I have not seen that link that connects us yet. ≤/p>≤p> ≤/p>≤p>Sorry I must go now. The Butler County, PA Book (Buchs) History notes state Johann George had 3 wives: 1st wife ____ Chatter; 2nd wife ____ Mesinger, and 3rd Christiana Metzger. (We are not sure of the order of wives 1 and 2.) and Johann George Book had 24 children.

Known children born to Georg by the first two marriages:

1st: Jacob Book b. 1743 Germany, d 1824 Ancaster Wentworth Ontario Canada, was a son of the FIRST WIFE, and was a half brother to Conrad 1747 and John 1754. FAG Memorial 63981845

2nd: Conrad b. 1747 Germany, d. 13 Aug 1804 Grimsby Township, Ontario Canada, FAG Memorial 118965582;
and John b. Jun 1754 Germany, d. 9 Jul 1827 Wentworth Ontario Canada, FAG Memorial 63981528,
were full brothers and sons of the SECOND WIFE. They were half brothers to Jacob b. 1743.

It is possible that there was also a daughter by Georg's 2nd marriage to Ms. Mesinger, named Mary, with a birth date of 18 Jan 1752 in America (FAG Memorial 23414458). She married Jacob Metzger (b. born Wurtemberg Germany Jan 10 1746/47). These two birth dates and locations come from the Bible of their son, George Metzger, owned by Harry Metzger, Ft. Wayne, IN, in 1906. Mary and Jacob Metzger married in about 1768 in New Jersey. Per the Sandusky, Ohio, 1896 History, this Jacob Metzger became a shoemaker, and they migrated from Union Co., PA, to Circleville (Washington Twp.), Pickaway Co., Ohio, in 1813.

Georg's 3rd wife was Christina Metzger, whom he married in Sussex Co., NJ. She was born in 1740 and lived to be 97 years old (d. ca 1837). They are the parents of Magdalena Buchs Dreisbach, wife of Jacob Dreisbach / Triesbach and Sophia Frederick Buchs, wife of Martin Dreisbach and other daughters. George Book, b. 1758 Sussex NJ, d. 1823 Worth Twp., Butler County, PA was the only known son of 3rd wife, Christiana Metzger. George was a HALF BROTHER to all 3 Canadian Book Boys, Jacob 1743, Conrad 1747 and John 1754.

From "A Short Family History and Genealogical Statement,
Martin Dreisbach, Senior, and his descendants," written by his grandson, John Dreisbach, Preacher:

"My grandparents on my mothers side, George Bucks and wife
Christina, a Metzger's daughter, were both emigrants from Germany, a place called Wuertenberg, and were members of the Lutheran Society; but grandmother in her last years became a member of the Evangelical Association. They were poor as to wordly estates, yet were they much respected by all who knew them best, because of their integrity, friendly disposition and piety. Grandfather lived 85 and grandmother 97 years; and their last end was peace. My
grandfather, George Books (as this name became thus spelled in english), had by former marriages several children, among the rest, Jacob, Conrad and John, half-brothers of my mother; these have resided for many years in Upper Canada. And beside, there was one full brother to my mother, George, Jr., who resided in Butler County, Pa., on Slippryrock, 15 miles north of Harmony. Anna Books was married to Michael Schock, Christina to William Emory, and Barbara to Christian Wolf. Schock's wife died in Youngmanstown, Union County, Pa. Wolf and his wife died in Seneca county, N.Y. Emory and his wife lived near uncle George Books. All these have left children, and some are scattered in different directions."

From listing of Rev. Soldiers of Northumberland Co., Shikelimo Chapter of the DAR:
"John George Book lived Buffalo Twp., 1775-87,
near Heimbach's; buried at Dreisbach's; wife, Christina. Martin
Dreisbach Jr., was married to his daughter, Sabina, born 1762, died
1849 in Fairfield Co., Ohio; mother of late Judge Martin Dreisbach
