"Cora M. Hofmann, 94, a resident of the Pioneer Home, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Lake Region Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Pioneer Home Chapel, with Rev. Lauren Youngdale officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Mrs. Hofmann was born June 18, 1892, in Elizabeth Township, one of four children of Henry and Anna (Zimmerman) Knobel. She grew up and attended school at District 16 in Elizabeth Township. She married Ambrose Perkins on March 25,1914, in Elizabeth. They had 11 children.
She moved to Montana in April of 1949. She married Frank Hofmann on Jan. 21,1959, at Worden, Mont. He preceded her in death. She had been a resident of the Pioneer Home since September 1981.
Survivors include seven daughters, Eleanor Thompson of Centuria, Wis., Fern Mauer, Mrs. Harry (Daisy) Halverson and Mrs. Willis (Illene) Bice, all of Fergus Falls, Grace Bengston of Braham, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Long of Minneapolis and Mrs. James (Irene) Groschupf of Columbia Falls, Mont.; four sons, Robert Perkins of Minneapolis, Ralph Perkins of Fergus Falls, Donald Perkins of Lewistown, Mont., and Earl Perkins of Austin; 48 grandchildren, 98 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Clara) Sha of Pelican Rapids; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Otto (Anna) Mueller of Java, S.D., Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Kirshner of Rapelje, Mont., and Mrs. Gerald (Esther) Thaut and Mrs. Henry (Elise) Dalke, both of Billings, Mont.; three step-sons, Clarence Hofmann and Frank Hofmann, both of Worden, and Ernie Hofmann of Havre, Mont.; 27 step-grandchildren, 48 step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
