Cordelia Akers Jarrell (Watson)

Cordelia Watson, also known as Cord, was born January 29, 1875 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow Watson and Rhoda Akers. She married John Martin Jarrell, son of Solomon Parks Jarrell and Mary Jane Woods, in 1891. She died April 10 1929 in Floyd County, Kentucky, at age 54.

Cordelia Watson appeared on the census of 16 June 1880 at Floyd County, Kentucky, listed as Cordelia Akers age 5 living with mother in home of grandfather Levi Akers. In this same census she is listed as a daughter of Levi Akers and Nancy age 5. Cordelia Watson appeared on the census of 23 June 1900 at Floyd County, Kentucky, listed as Cordelia FitzGerald age 25 born June 1875 married 8 years with 3 children, all still living, in home of husband. Cordelia was only married once to John Jarrell in year 1892 at age 17. She is listed in the 1910 census as being in the home of John Jarrell husband of 18 years with 7 children. She appeared on the census of 1910 at Floyd County, Kentucky, listed as Cordelia age 35 married 18 years with 7 children, living in home of husband. She appeared on the census of 1 January 1920 at Floyd County, Kentucky, listed as Cordelia age 45 living in home of husband.
